Another rising star is coming to Frisco.
Whitnye Raquel‘s journey as a child started in Boulder County, Colorado. She eventually landed in Whichita Fallas, Texas, until college brought her to DFW.
It wasn’t long after landing in Fort Worth that she started making a living from her music. It didn’t take more than that for her to know that music would be her way of life.
Going all in on her career since, Whitnye has performed over 150 shows a year since 2008.
The Music of Whitnye Raquel
Generations of players in the family raised Whitnye on the music of Merle Haggard and Joe Stamply. Over time, she grew into the sounds of singer-songwriters like Tom Petty, Neil Young, and Bob Dillon.
The influence of family, locations, and musicians set the stage for her folksy/bluesy style of music that is lyrical and melodic.
Songs like “Easy” are so inviting you’ll want to start signing along from the first time you hear it. You may even wonder why you didn’t discover someone this talented, and right in your own back yard, a little sooner.
And while you’ll enjoy her music right out of the gate, it also has a timeless quality that grows with you. It’s the kind of music you never get tired of listening to and will get baked into your summer memories.
Take Whitnye with you by grabbing her debut EP “All My Truths,” released in November 2012, on iTunes.
If you love music that makes you feel good, coupled with a great live performance, than Whitnye Raquel is a don’t miss show. We hope she becomes a regular Stan’s Main Street!
There’s something special about local music this good that’s hard to describe, but you know it when you hear it.
One fan on YouTube said “I saw her at the John Anderson concert and was blown away by her talent and energy why isn’t she famous yet not to mention she’s got the cutest little southern voice I’ve ever heard.”
You can catch Whitnye July 22, at Stan’s Main Street at 8pm.
